First Run of the Year! I am excited. It was one day and already I feel good. Running in the cold, is something else though. Your lungs burn regardless of how in shape you are. I'll deal with it though. Think of how ready I'll be when the good weather finally arrives! In two months I was running 16minutes non-stop, which is just around the time it starts getting nice out.
We started all the way at the beginning, well not really. We did 2minutes of running with 1 minute walking for 10 intervals. And we tackled the large hills home. It was difficult running in the dark, I don't have reflectors yet and some people in Highland Park insist on not shoveling. It's ridiculous. Maybe they welcome lawsuits, who knows! I am going to purchase the reflectors this week, just the arm ones for Andrew and myself.
I actually felt ok on the run, I think the only thing that really affected me was the cold. I may have to find my fleece gloves because my hands were freezing. But otherwise, I was pretty ok in just a t shirt, hoodie, tights shorts combo I had going on. I was even sweating! Fit wise, I only began to weaken at the 7th interval. My right leg was just like "No, let's go home!" But I made it through and actually picked up the pace towards the end. Came home feeling accomplished.
I feel good again! Tonight I just plan on working out in the hizzle. Doing some stuff for my core and all over. Then folding my laundry and cleaning the apartment for Friday's Fun.
